The Airport Limousine bus at Haneda and Narita airport offer a cost effective method of transportation for millions of travelers. The airport limousine buses are easily identified by having a unique orange stripe on them and are available every 10 minutes at Haneda and every 15 to 30 minutes at Narita.
Things to Know About the Airport Limousine Bus
The Airport Limousine buses are very comfortable to ride in, have good air conditioning, and have ample space for your luggage in the cargo area of the bus.
Every passenger must have a seat as no standing is allowed. If there are not enough seats available, you have to catch the next bus. In addition, most of the buses are now equipped with toilets for the long haul rides. If you need toilet accommodations, please check with bus staff.
How much does a Bus Ride Cost?
The bus fare will depend on the distance of your destination. The farther away it is from the airport the mor the fare will cost.
To give an example, if you were to ride a bus from Narita to Disney Land, the estimated fare would be 1,800 yen per passenger.
If you were to ride a limousine bus from Narita to Shinjuku, the estimated fare would be 3,000 yen per passenger.
You can inquire the exact costs when buying tickets at the Arrivals area of the airport or you can book tickets online or call them directly at this number: 03-3665-7220
Do I need to make reservations?
No. The option to reserve is available but it is not required to make reservations. You can buy a ticket directly at the ticket counter located at the Arrivals section of the airport.
The main reason why we do not recommend making reservations in advance is because of unexpected delays that might occur. Your plane could be delayed due to weather, lost luggage, or that immigrations might just be having a really busy day. Some times you might need that extra time looking for the right sim card for your phone at the airport. If you were to be delayed, it would be a headache to rearrange due to delays on your part so this is why we recommend you buy tickets when you arrive at the airport and see which time slots are available. Remember, buses come every 10 to 30 minutes (every 10 minutes at Haneda) so you won’t be stranded at all with the Airport Limousine bus service.
Are the other options besides the bus?
Yes.
Besides the airport limousine buses, both Narita and Haneda airports have trains, taxis, and car rentals for you to choose from.
