Does teamLabs Get Heavily Crowded?

It is usually heavily crowded during the holidays and weekends. On the weekdays, the wait is not that bad. The wait can range from 10 minutes to 30 minutes depending on how packed the venue is.

Should I be Worried About the Crowds?

From my experience, teamLabs has been pretty good with crowd control.

Visitors will wait in queue and be grouped according to their time slot. When an exhibit’s time slot ends, the current group will leave and a new group will enter. It’s a simple concept but this is done so that each exhibit in the museum do not get overcrowded. With this system, people are able to enjoy the museum.

Furthermore, understand that time may be strictly enforced so you will be forced to leave certain exhibits if you stay to long.

What Should I Wear?

Wear comfortable clothing but most importantly short pants. As for the ladies, I would recommend they not wear skirts.

The reason why I recommend pants is that there is an exhibit called Water Surface Infinity where you will walk in knee deep water that is a about foot and half deep ( about 45 cm deep).

Second, I recommend the ladies to not wear skirts is because you will be walking on mirrors. The mirror on the floor will clearly reflect your panties. I noticed that some women don’t care but many seem to have regretted wearing short skirts.

Also wear shoes that you can easily take off. You will have to take them off and place them in lockers before entering the actual exhibits.

What Day Should I Go?

TJA highly recommends that you go on a weekday when it’s less crowded. If you have to go during the weekend and it gets really crowded, be mentally prepared that you may not be able to fully enjoy the magic of the sounds, lights, and more!

What Time Should I Go?

This will depend on the volume of the crowd, weather, and day so nothing written here is certain. However, if you go before noon, it would typically be less crowded if get in by 9 AM. If you want to go afternoon, try to go in the evening around 7 PM.

Is it really nice as Online Reviewers say?

From my opinion it is nice because it is different from traditional art museums.

The only problem I had with Teamlabs Tokyo was the smell. There is a heavy chlorine smell especially in the water area and this might irritate some people especially those who are sensitive to chlorine. If you have sensitive skin, make sure you get that checked out as the water might sting your feet. Everything else, I would say was great.

What I thought made my experience better was the fact that as long as you don’t exceed your time slot, you can go and check out your favorite exhibit for a second time. I did this to experience the water exhibit for a second time.
